Jonah: the one that nearly got away?
When we think of the book of Jonah, the first thing that comes to mind is the Big Fish, of course. It is an exciting tale that many of us learned as children. The surface narrative is entertaining but there is so much deeper truth to be gleaned here also.
How will God deal with us when we are stubborn, defiant or disobedient? Is anyone too far gone to receive His mercy? Can we derail God's plans in this world? Jonah has much to show us about God's sovereignty and His great mercy.
