James encourages us to persevere through all the various kinds of trials we face in our lives while trusting in Jesus. Trials and suffering are never pleasant experiences but we know that God uses them to develop character in us and show our faith is genuine.  We develop perseverance only when sorely tested and have the option of giving up, but we don't. We develop deep trust in God only through those times when all else is stripped away and we must only trust in God. It is in these times that we find Him personally faithful to us and can continue into the future knowing and sharing with others that "I went through this, and God stayed with me, loved me and strengthened me: He is trustworthy and true".

I pray that these sermons encourage you in whatever circumstances you find yourself. May you be strengthened and built up by listening to the voice of God through this preaching in the book of James.
